About The 406 Restaurant

Located in a beautifully restored home, The 406 Restaurant offers an upscale yet approachable dining experience in the heart of Live Oak, Florida. Our menu features upscale cuisine with an elevated twist, showcasing fresh local produce, seafood, premium cuts of meat, and house-made desserts. Guests enjoy a full-service bar with a curated wine list, handcrafted cocktails, and nightly live entertainment. With seating for 150 guests, including indoor dining rooms and an outdoor deck overlooking our historic gardens, The 406 is a destination for both casual dinners and special events.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead our team and uphold the high standards of service and quality that our patrons have come to expect. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of upscale casual dining, and a passion for wine and mixology. This role involves close collaboration with the ownership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Staff Management: Directly supervise and mentor front and back-of-house fostering a positive, welcoming and efficient work environment.
  • Beverage Program Oversight: Manage liquor ordering, inventory, and maintain our high-end cocktail program. Strong wine knowledge is essential to support our curated wine offerings and pairing dinners.
  • Event Execution: Coordinate and execute events for up to 45 guests ensuring seamless integration with regular service.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee daily restaurant operations, including scheduling, staff training, and quality control, to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the owners and assistant manager on strategic initiatives, including the planned expansion to lunch service.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a managerial role within an upscale casual or fine dining establishment.
  • Extensive knowledge of wine, spirits, and cocktail creation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a diverse team.
  • Experience in planning and executing dining events and private functions.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
