Job summary

In-N-Out Burger seeks a full-time Equipment Installer based in Baldwin Park, CA to construct and install refrigeration, beverage, and food-service equipment for new restaurants. The role involves on-site assembly, testing, and coordinating with the Equipment Installation Supervisor.

Required are EPA refrigerant certification and HVAC training, plus 2+ years in refrigeration or restaurant equipment repair. Travel to multiple states is expected, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• EPA certification to handle refrigerants.
• Certification or associate’s degree from HVAC program.
• Minimum 2 years in refrigeration, coolant or beverage equipment repair.
• Minimum 2 years in construction or related fields.
• Strong refrigeration troubleshooting and restaurant repair experience.
• Knowledge of construction operations and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Install and assemble equipment for building restaurants.
• Install refrigeration and cooling equipment and beverage/food service gear.
• Soldering and brazing for refrigeration and some plumbing tasks.
• Final hook-up and testing of cooking equipment.
• Maintain inventory and assist on project sites.
• Travel to project sites and manage paperwork as required.
• Be available for emergency store calls and on-call duties.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.

We have an excellent opportunity for a full-time Equipment-Installer based in our Baldwin Park, CA office. The Equipment Installer is responsible for construction of all company facilities in the area of refrigeration, cooling equipment, beverage equipment and food preparation equipment. The role reports to the Equipment Installation Supervisor.

General Responsibilities

• In charge of the installation and assembly of pieces of equipment, as it relates to building restaurants for In-N-Out Burger
• Installs refrigeration and cooling equipment; Responsible for delivery and installation of all beverage and food service related equipment
• Performs soldering and brazing required to install refrigeration and some plumbing equipment
• Performs final hook-up and testing of cooking equipment
• Assist fabricators when available
• Remains on stand-by at store openings to correct equipment problems or failures
• Available to assist on emergency store calls.
• Responsible for maintenance of tool and supply inventory on truck
• Assist superintendent in acquiring health department permits
• Reports and travels daily to the construction project site
• Administrative duties in the shop, such as stocking inventory, maintaining phone contacts, and completing assigned paperwork
• Ensure projects are delivered successfully and on time
• Full-time, Non-Exempt
• Work Hours: Monday-Thursday, 6:00 am-4:30 pm
• Pay Range is $30.45-$33.70 per hour
  The above represents the expected pay range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we will consider your experience and other job-related factors.
• Travel: Approximately 80% of time will be spent in the field traveling and being on project sites in the states where In-N-Out Burger operates: CA, NV, AZ, TX, UT, OR, CO, ID, WA and TN
• On-call: Be available to assist on emergency store calls.

Qualifications

• Required: Certification through the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to handle refrigerants
• Certification or associate’s degree from an HVAC program at a technical school
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in working in refrigeration, coolant or beverage equipment repair, restaurant equipment repair
• Minimum of two (2) years experience in construction or related fields
• Strong refrigeration troubleshooting and restaurant repair experience
• In-depth understanding of construction operations and processes
• Knowledge of local quality, safety, and health guidelines for construction job sites
• Quick Service Restaurant or Restaurant experience preferred
• Strong problem solver; be able to resolve on-site issues and emergencies
• Communication and project management skills
• Strong attention to detail and good time management; Team player
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills and strong human relations skills
• Creative problem solving abilities and outstanding organizational skills
• Strong computer proficiency; Excellent in MS Office applications and Construction Management software (i.e. Smartsheet, Forma (ACC), etc.)
