Job summary

ASM Global-SMG Premier Food Serv. Inc. is seeking Restaurant & Banquet Servers for the 2026 San Diego County Fair at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. This seasonal position requires at least 2 years of food service experience and proficiency with POS systems.

Servers will provide timely service in a fast-paced environment, carry trays of food, and be available for late hours and weekends. Compensation is $16.90 per hour, not including tips.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of food or cocktail service experience.
• Food Handlers certification required by start of employment.
• Ability to carry a service tray set with up to eight full plates.

POSITION: Restaurant & Banquet Servers

DEPARTMENT: Banquets

REPORTS TO: Banquet Manager

Overview

Legends Global at the Del Mar Fairgrounds & Racetrack is looking for Restaurant and Banquet Servers for the 2026 San Diego County Fair, Del Mar Thoroughbred Club Summer Live Meet. This is a seasonal/temporary position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide timely food and beverage service
• Work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment
• Apply general knowledge of food and alcohol
• Use touch screen POS systems (Toast experience is a plus)
• Perform other restaurant duties as assigned

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Minimum 2 years of food or cocktail service experience
• Food Handlers certification and RBS #, RBS certified by the start of employment
• Minimum age 18 to serve alcohol
• Ability to carry a service tray set with up to eight full plates
• Stand, walk and lift up to 25 pounds; work late hours, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Proficiency with touch screen POS systems
• Ability to attend orientation and training shifts as directed by management

Compensation

$16.90 per hour, not including tips.

Physical Demands

The employee regularly moves around the facility, stands for long hours during events, and may work inside or outside, as required by events.
