Summary of Position:

Provides friendly and efficient service to guests according to company policies, procedures, programs, and performance standards. Performs all duties to maximize guest satisfaction and maintain a positive work environment as directed by the Manager on Duty. Controls the flow of business in the dining room to ensure guests feel welcome and comfortable. Checks out guests at the register and provides genuine hospitality to ensure a highly satisfactory dining experience.

Position Activities and Tasks:

  • Host activities and guest interaction
  • Reports to work well-groomed, in a clean and proper uniform, practicing good personal hygiene
  • Opens doors for guests entering and leaving
  • Uses greeting, seating, and waiting list procedures; seats guests in a friendly and timely manner, in person or via telephone
  • Anticipates and corrects system issues to achieve maximum guest satisfaction
  • Completes wait sheets
  • Greets and seats guests; describes features and specials
  • Checks out guests at the register; asks for feedback and invites return visits
  • Moves through the dining room to ensure guests have everything needed; attentive service
  • Sells bakery items and efficiently packages to-go orders
  • Maintains cleanliness of cashier area, bakery cases, displays, lobby, entryway, restrooms, and dining room
  • Ensures menus are clean

Assist Crew Members:

  • Processes to-go orders
  • Assists servers with pre-bussing and guest needs
  • Sweeps floors and assists with side work during downtime
  • Supports servers and bus persons to meet service standards
  • Ensures 100% guest satisfaction
  • Communicates issues to management and proposes solutions

Physical Requirements/Environment/Working Conditions:

  • Extensive standing and walking for up to 8 hours
  • Ability to see at various distances and distinguish shapes
  • Clear communication skills
  • Exposure to heat, steam, smoke, cold
  • Reaching heights of approximately 6 feet; bending, reaching, walking
  • Carrying trays weighing about 50 pounds for up to 30 feet; lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Work in conditions with dish and cleaning chemicals

Supervision Received: Direction and training from the Manager on Duty regarding procedures and assignments.

Knowledge and Skills Required: Basic skills such as sanitation, safety, and customer service, which can be taught in-house.
