Job summary

Aztec Shops Ltd. seeks a Restaurant Assistant Manager to support the unit manager in overseeing operations, staffing, and customer service at Aztec Nutrition Center. You will help ensure high quality products, efficient service, and adherence to policies and safety standards.

You will supervise staff, assist in scheduling, training, and resolving customer issues, while contributing to sales and cost control in a dynamic university dining environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: high school diploma or GED; one year supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience in mid to high volume retail and food service environments is helpful.
• Strong communication, supervisory, and math skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist unit manager with operations staff, hiring/disciplining employees, setting priorities, and directing work.
• Prepare daily sales reports and adjust staffing and inventory based on sales.
• Train crew leads on storage, rotation, and proper procedures to ensure quality and safety.
• Resolve customer issues to ensure satisfaction and handle cash handling and records.
• Develop relationships with customers, vendors, and SDSU stakeholders.
