Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, plus two years of managerial experience in a commercial kitchen; culinary degree preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, computer literacy, mathematical/financial, leadership, self-motivation, and organizational skills required.
• Food Handler certificate from the County of San Diego is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the daily operations in the kitchen.
• Manages and develops all kitchen staff, including hiring, termination, and training; sets priorities and directs work.
• Operates, maintains, and cleans kitchen and production equipment per sanitation guidelines.
• Manages daily operations to ensure quality products and services.
• Develops and implements menu items responding to customer needs and profitability.
• Keeps up with food trends and seasonal product changes.
• Directs daily preparation of standard and gourmet items.
• Resolves customer issues to ensure satisfaction.
• Monitors inventory control, ordering, handling and storage of food and supplies.
• Ensures compliance with policies, laws, and safety standards.
