Summary of Position

A shift leader supports management in achieving restaurant goals by implementing, managing, and enforcing company policies, procedures, programs, and performance standards. This hands-on leadership role involves delivering the following to our guests and employees every shift:

Reporting Relationships
  • Reports directly to the General Manager or Manager on duty
  • Has extensive contact with all levels of store personnel and home office departments
  • External contacts include guests and distributors
Position Activities and Tasks
  • Ensure all menu items are prepared, portioned, and presented properly in a clean and sanitary manner, following all procedures and health regulations
  • Assist with all restaurant functions as needed
  • Prepare each shift through planning, inspection, and anticipation of challenges; communicate expectations and assign tasks to team members
  • Lead the shift by maintaining standards, keeping the team positive and organized, and addressing issues promptly
  • Evaluate shift results and communicate with management regarding performance, guest concerns, and maintenance issues
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Stand and walk extensively for up to 8 hours
  • Have good vision and communication skills
  • Work in environments with heat, steam, smoke, and cold
  • Reach heights of approximately 6 feet and depths of 2.5 to 3 feet
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Work irregular hours under pressure during busy times
  • Handle chemicals safely
Supervision and Education

Receives guidance from Regional Manager. Requires a high school diploma; some college preferred. One year of food service experience is preferred.
