Job summary

Boddie-Noell Enterprises, Inc. is seeking an accounting professional to perform daily accounting functions for set numbers of Hardee’s restaurants. You will generate timely statements and ensure accuracy across multiple systems, including Net-Chef and Workday.

The role requires meticulous attention to detail and a strong grasp of P&L processes, journal entries, and cash control procedures. Accounting or related degree is preferred, with opportunities to advance within a family‑oriented business.

Qualifications

• Accounting knowledge and detail orientation are required.
• Experience with P&L statements and journal entries preferred.
• Familiarity with general ledger systems and accounting processes is expected.

Responsibilities

• Review daily deposits for cash discrepancies and report variances.
• Verify restaurant daily sales and adjust as needed in the systems.
• Process and review paid-outs/pay-ins, journal entries, and cost variances.
• Monitor cash controls including change funds and AR for past due amounts.
• Reconcile food cost credits and transfers in Net-Chef and Workday.
• Analyze preliminary P&L exceptions and ensure accurate ledger balances.
• Collaborate with restaurant management and accounting teams.

What Will You Do?

Job Purpose Statement: Perform daily accounting functions for set number of Hardees restaurants to generate timely, accurate accounting statements and other information for each restaurant.

Job Functions

• Review daily deposits for cash discrepancies short or over more than $50. Report discrepancies to supervisor, DM, RDO, RVP and Asset Protection, as indicated, for further investigation.


• Verify restaurant daily sales. Communicate any discrepancies with restaurant management and Restaurant Systems for verification of accuracy. Adjust sales as needed due to missed polling.


• Verify paid-outs/paid-ins for validity, proper approval, correct general ledger account, and amounts. Make journal entries to transfer amounts to cash short/over account if proper receipts are not submitted by period-end.


• Monitor change fund balances and discrepancies. Communicate issues or concerns with DM.


• Review weekly inventories and food cost variances in Net-Chef. Review inventory transfers between restaurants for accuracy in Net-Chef.


• Reconcile/cancel and review food cost credits and food donations in Net-Chef. Reconcile/cancel and review the non-inventoried restaurant supplies transfers in Workday.


• Monitor the accounts receivable for charged meals account in Workday. Communicate with customers/Operations concerning past due amounts.


• Analyze preliminary P&L exceptions reports at period-end for discrepancies. Verify general ledger account balances in Workday using the restaurant detail P&L to review detailed transactions by period and make any necessary journal entries to correct.


• Communicate effectively with restaurant management and act as a liaison between Operations and Accounting.


• Train as backup for digital sales reconciliation.


• Consistently exhibit the actions/behaviors which best demonstrate BNE’s Vision and Values; perform other tasks as directed by management; and always represent Boddie-Noell Enterprises, Inc. as a professional in every aspect of performance.

Requirements

• Skills in monthly P & L preparation.


• Strong attention to detail.


• Accounting proficiency obtained by either Associates or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or previous accounting/bookkeeping experience.


• Must have working knowledge of Excel and Word.
