Job summary

Cunningham Restaurant Group is seeking a Staff Accountant to maintain and control General Ledger accounts for selected locations, supporting daily financial operations. The role covers daily sales balance, AP audit, journal entries, monthly reconciliations, and assisting with P&L and balance sheet analysis.

Strong detail orientation, organization, and communication are essential in our restaurant-focused team.

Qualifications

• Prefer an accounting degree but will consider candidates with restaurant accounting experience
• Knowledge of Compeat or similar accounting system
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload to meet tight deadlines
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and good record-keeping
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
• Team player and able to collaborate with other teams
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to communicate issues to all levels of management

Responsibilities

• Daily Sales Report – Balance, audit, post to COMPEAT
• Accounts Payable – Audit cut-off and account number assignment and post to Compeat
• Bi-monthly vendor statement reconciliation of outstanding restaurant AP invoices
• Assist AP Manager with weekly check run processing
• Monthly petty cash recon
• Rebates – tracking for food, liquor, beer, wine
• Journal entry preparation for various activities
• Restaurant Private Dining reclassification
• Accounts Receivables
• Inventory corrections
• Prepaids
• Cash reconciliation corrections
• Assist with preparation of monthly P & Ls
• Balance Sheet book analysis
• Assist with year-end G & A Budget analysis
• Accounting responsibilities (Quick-books) for owned apartments.
