Job summary

Esri is seeking a REST API Product Engineer to design, test, and document REST API features for ArcGIS Enterprise. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to ensure APIs are reliable, secure, and scalable, solving real GIS workflows for customers worldwide.

You will develop tests, advocate for users, contribute to planning, and craft developer-facing guidance. Public presentations and conference showcases are part of the role.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience designing, testing, and validating RESTful APIs.
• Solid understanding of REST and HTTP concepts.
• Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or Java.
• Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise or ArcGIS Online.
• Ability to write clear, developer-friendly tech docs.
• Strong communication and collaboration across teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS, engineering, math, GIS, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate to design, enhance, and validate REST APIs for ArcGIS Enterprise across Windows, Linux, and Kubernetes.
• Develop and execute functional, integration, and automation tests for API capabilities.
• Advocate for users and developers to ensure intuitive, consistent APIs.
• Participate in project planning, scope definition, timelines, and milestones.
• Coordinate REST API features with engineering, documentation, support, and product management.
• Certify REST API features prior to product release.
• Write and maintain API reference documentation, samples, and developer guidance.
• Present REST API features and release readiness at internal milestones.
• Showcase API capabilities at Esri conferences.
