Job summary

Esri is seeking a Senior Product Engineer for Web Services to own and guide backend service evolution across the ArcGIS platform. This role blends deep technical fluency with strong product judgment to ensure reliability, scale, and customer value.

You will be the primary product decision-maker for assigned services, crafting goals, metrics, and prioritizing work while collaborating across teams to balance customer needs and platform health.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a product-focused role such as Product Engineer or Product Manager.
• Strong experience in Agile software development.
• Deep familiarity with RESTful web services and API versioning.
• Experience with ArcGIS applications and technologies.
• Knowledge of cloud-native service fundamentals.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS, GIS, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end evolution, quality, and customer impact of ArcGIS web services.
• Serve as the primary product decision-maker for assigned services.
• Define goals, metrics, and quality standards using telemetry and feedback.
• Maintain and prioritize a comprehensive product backlog.
• Own service contracts, API behavior, versioning, and backward compatibility.
• Champion operational excellence for reliability, performance, and observability.
• Influence product direction through cross‑team collaboration and mentoring.
• Validate and triage requests with Esri Support Services.
