Job summary

Esri is seeking a Product Engineer II in the Geoenabled Systems group within Professional Services to contribute across a suite of GIS products including indoor mapping, pipelines, and observability tools. You will help design and become a SME for the observability platform, shaping how users interact with spatial intelligence and operational systems across industries.

Qualifications

2+ years of professional experience in a similar documentation role.
Excellent written and verbal communication to convey topics clearly.
Familiarity with HTML, XML (DITA), or Markdown.
Experience with CMS-based web documentation with versioning.
Ability to learn software workflows and produce high-impact UA materials.
Experience deploying or testing documentation in software environments.
Familiarity with IT observability and ArcGIS software.
Bachelor’s degree in CS, GIS, English, technical writing, or STEM.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with software engineers to produce and maintain documentation of conceptual topics and step-by-step workflows.
Support UA materials including installed and online help, tutorials, blog articles, videos, and other technical enablement content.
Manage documentation throughout the software development life cycle and ensure release compliance.
Be part of a UA team to produce content that aligns with Esri’s documentation style and provides a consistent user experience.
Be part of a product development team to provide functionality feedback and usability testing.
Cultivate cross-functional partnerships with product management and marketing to ensure intuitive UX across software and UA content.
Deploy and test software workflows to validate documentation accuracy and alignment with real system behavior.
Work with product team to envision, design, build, test, release, and support desktop and enterprise products.
Document new observability capabilities related to system monitoring, diagnostics, and workflows.
Evaluate and refine AI-generated documentation drafts for accuracy, clarity, and usability.
Use modern documentation tooling and AI-assisted writing workflows to improve efficiency while maintaining quality.
