Job summary

ChildServe is looking for a Respite Assistant in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to provide personal care for children with special health care needs. You'll have the opportunity to engage creatively with kids while their caregivers take a break.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old, 18+ requires valid driver’s license and insurance.
• Ability to communicate effectively in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, be mobile, and perform physical tasks.

Respite Assistant

Do you want to get paid to have fun? If so, ChildServe Respite has a job for you! As a Respite Assistant, you will provide personal care and supervision for children with special health care needs in our client’s home and out in the community.

Schedule

Flexible hours! Most shifts occur after 4pm Monday – Friday.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Have fun with kids while their regular caregivers get a break
• Be creative while engaging children in activities
• Provide 1:1 care in the child’s home or in the community
• Receive ongoing training and supervision

What You’ll Need

• Must be at least 16 years old to apply
• Those 18 and over must be willing to provide transportation as a ChildServe authorized driver, if required. This includes passing a motor vehicle record check and car safety check and being able to provide a valid driver’s license and insurance
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, be mobile within the assigned work area, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand
• Ability to communicate effectively in reading, writing, and speaking the English language
