Job summary

National Youth Advocate Program (NYAP) seeks a part-time Behavioral Health Respite Treatment Advocate to support adolescents, youth and families with mental and behavioral health needs in home, community and office settings, including transportation and in-home services.

This role requires flexible after-school/evening hours, occasional weekend work, documenting interactions for billing, coordinating with partners, and helping develop youth treatment plans.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree, Bachelor’s Degree or enrollment in an accredited program; GED/HS diploma acceptable.
• Experience in child welfare preferred.
• Flexibility to travel daily and to meet clients evenings/weekends; after-school hours.
• Reliable telephone and basic tech proficiency with computers, smartphones, tablets, printers, and common software.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing youth treatment/service plans.
• Interact with youth to build trusting relationships and support goal achievement.
• Provide transportation as needed and participate in 1-on-1 activities per treatment plan.
• Document conversations and outcomes for billing; submit paperwork.
• Identify community resources and services to support youth development and goals.
• Must provide transportation for clients to outside locations and activities.
