Visiting Angels of Claremont is recruiting a Respite At Home Caregiver to assist clients across the Upper Connecticut River Valley, including Brattleboro, VT, and nearby towns. You will provide personal care, companionship, meal prep, light housekeeping, and safety support with flexible daytime hours and competitive wages.

Requirements include a high school diploma, a valid drivers license, reliable vehicle, strong communication skills, and willingness to undergo training as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid drivers license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle to transport clients.

• First Aid and emergency response training provided if needed.
• Reliable transportation to get to client homes as scheduled.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care, hygiene, and mobility.
• Support light physical activity and walks with clients.
• Plan and prepare meals with clients.
• Perform light housekeeping tasks as needed.
• Report health changes or incidents to supervisor.
• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Respond quickly in emergencies and ensure client safety.
• Accompany clients on shopping trips and appointments.

As a Visiting Angels Respite At Home Caregiver, you'll play a vital role in enriching the quality of life of clients and supporting their wellness in accordance with their custom care plans. This can include:

• Helping clients with personal care and hygiene
• Assisting clients with light physical exercise or walks
• Planning and preparing meals with clients
• Handling light housekeeping duties
• Reporting health changes or unusual incidents
• Providing pleasant, supportive companionship
• Responding quickly and responsibly in emergencies
• Accompanying and supervise clients during shopping trips
• Reminding clients to take prescription medications appropriately
• Providing assistance with mobility and ambulation both at home and during appointments/errands

Visiting Angels offers opportunities for advanced training in areas like dementia care and/or Alzheimer’s care for caregivers seeking to broaden their skills.

Respite At Home Caregiver Job Requirements:

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Posses a Valid Drivers License, Car Insurance, and a Reliable Personal Vehicle to use to transport clients
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must
• Training in First Aid and emergency response is required (provided if needed)
• Have excellent time-management skills and can juggle multiple duties at once
• Reliable transportation to get to and from client homes at the times you're scheduled to provide care
• Feel confident in your physical endurance when it comes to things like carrying groceries and physically supporting a client
• Feel comfortable performing housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to applicable dietary constraints
• Are willing and able to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards (ex., background check)
• Bring compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten the day of each client to the table
