Job summary

ChildServe in Johnston, IA is seeking a Respiratory Therapy Tech I to support the respiratory therapy department with supply and equipment management. The role offers varied day and overnight shifts to accommodate class schedules.

Ideal candidates are actively enrolled in a respiratory therapy program, can obtain BLS within 90 days, and are capable of lifting up to 35 lbs while staying mobile on the floor. English communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days before working independently.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and move around the work area.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate, timely records per standards of practice and ChildServe policies.
• Rotate stock items to ensure expiring items are used first.
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain equipment per infection control guidelines.
• Assist with onsite oxygen tank fulfillment/replacement program.
• Serve as liaison to Masimo tech support for equipment troubleshooting.

Respiratory Therapy students! As a Respiratory Therapy Tech I, you will be responsible for supporting the respiratory therapy department with supply and equipment management to aid in daily operations.

Wage: $18/hour

Schedule

• Varied shifts available that can work around class schedule
• Day and overnight opportunities available

What You'll Do

• Maintains accurate, completed, and timely records as defined by standards of practice and ChildServe policies and procedures.
• Participate in the routine rotation of stocked items to ensure items are used prior to expiration date.
• Clean/disinfect, maintain and replace equipment per ChildServe infection control guidelines and best practices.
• Assist with onsite oxygen tank fulfillment/replacement program.
• Serve as liaison to Masimo tech support to troubleshoot respiratory/vitals monitoring equipment.

What You'll Need

• Currently committed to enroll or is enrolled in a respiratory therapy program.
• Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Red Cross or American Heart Association within 90 days and before working independently.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, be mobile within the assigned work area, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.
• Ability to communicate effectively in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
