Job summary

A pediatric healthcare provider in Johnston, Iowa is seeking a full-time respiratory therapist. The role involves delivering care based on physician’s orders, maintaining records, and training families. Candidates must have certification from an accredited program and licensure to practice in Iowa, with pediatric experience preferred. Qualifications

• Documentation of current CPR/BLS certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• PALS certification preferred.
• Experience with tracheostomy care and changes preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
• Experience with tracheostomy care preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs and be mobile within the work area.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a full range of respiratory therapy care based on physician’s orders.
• Maintain accurate records as defined by respiratory therapy standards.
• Communicate effectively with children, families, and staff.
• Provide respiratory training to children and families.
• Provide respiratory and related training to families and staff as needed.
• Demonstrate good stewardship of equipment, supplies, and environment.

Skills

Job description

Schedule

• Full-Time, 3 shifts per week, 6pm-6:30 am, every 3rd weekend.
• Benefit eligible including medical, dental, vision plans, retirement with company match and generous PTO accrual including 16 hours of PTO front-loaded.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Within the respiratory therapy scope of practice, physician’s orders, and the child’s care plan, make decisions and deliver a full range of respiratory therapy care based on the fundamentals of the respiratory therapy care.
• Maintain accurate, completed, and timely records as defined by respiratory therapy standards of practice and ChildServe policies and procedures.
• Communicate effectively, respectfully, and professionally with children, physicians, families, school personnel, ChildServe staff, and others to assure assigned child’s care needs are assessed, communicated, and met.
• Stay current with all unit and ChildServe specific information.
• Provide respiratory and related training to children, families, and staff as needed to help advance the skills and knowledge of all people associated with a child’s care delivery.
• Demonstrate good stewardship of ChildServe equipment, supplies, and environment.
