Job summary

King David Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist to join our Skilled Nursing Facility team.

The CRT will set up and operate respiratory care equipment, assess residents, develop care plans, and educate patients and families under supervision, while documenting therapy data and monitoring progress.

Qualifications

• Valid, current NYS license.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist credential as per the NBRC.
• COVID-19 vaccination.
• Previous experience in long-term care (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment for resident diagnosis and treatment.
• Performs patient assessment and develops a comprehensive care plan.
• Modifies therapy plan to maximize the efficacy of the therapy regimen.
• Reviews data in the resident record including history, lab data, radiological studies, progress notes, respiratory and cardiovascular monitoring data.
• Documents respiratory therapy data.
• Administers and modifies various respiratory therapy procedures.
• Assesses resident’s overall status and progress.
• Educates residents and/or family members on how to properly take medication and use equipment.
• Assists in respiratory therapy practices under supervision and guidance of an RRT.
• Performs any services within the scope of practice of a CRT.
