Hamilton Park Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) to join our skilled nursing team. You will operate respiratory care equipment, assess residents, and contribute to care planning under supervision.

Qualifications

• Valid, current NYS license is required.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist credential as per NBRC is required.
• COVID-19 vaccination is required for employment.
• Experience in long-term care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate respiratory care equipment for diagnosis and treatment.
• Perform resident assessments and develop care plans.
• Modify therapy to maximize efficacy of the regimen.
• Review resident records and monitor respiratory and cardiovascular data.
• Document and record respiratory therapy data.
• Administer and modify respiratory therapy procedures.
• Assess resident progress and status.
• Educate residents and families on medications and equipment use.
• Assist in therapies under supervision of an RRT.
• Perform services within the CRT scope of practice.

Certified Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

• Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment for resident diagnosis and treatment
• Performs patient assessment and develops a comprehensive care plan
• Modifies therapy plan to maximize the efficacy of the therapy regimen
• Review data in the resident record including history, lab data, radiological studies, progress notes, respiratory and cardiovascular monitoring data
• Document/record respiratory therapy data
• Administer and modify various respiratory therapy procedures
• Assess resident’s overall status and progress
• Educate residents and/or family members on how to properly take medication and use equipment
• Assist in respiratory therapy practices under the supervision and guidance of an RRT
• Perform any services and assignments within the scope of practice of a CRT

Certified Respiratory Therapist Requirements

• Valid, current NYS license
• Certified Respiratory Therapist credential as per the NBRC
• COVID-19 Vaccination

• Previous experience in long-term care
