Job summary

Ascension Via Christi Hospitals in Wichita, KS, seeks a Respiratory Care professional for variable hours (PRN). This role supports clinical excellence, prepares treatment areas for patient care, and ensures respiratory supplies and equipment are ready for use.

Education-wise, a high school diploma or equivalent plus experience is required; licensure/certification can substitute education. Enrolled in a CoARC-approved Respiratory Care Program is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable experience is required.
• Licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
• Enrolled in a CoARC approved Respiratory Care Program is a preferred qualification.

Responsibilities

• Support Clinical Excellence: Assist in delivering vital respiratory therapies, ensuring each patient receives the baseline support needed for pulmonary recovery.
• Optimize the Healing Environment: Prepare and maintain treatment areas in safe, sanitary conditions so that the clinical team can focus on patient interventions.
• Manage Critical Resources: Monitor and maintain an inventory of respiratory supplies and equipment to ensure life-saving tools are ready for immediate use.
• Ensure Equipment Readiness: Coordinate and document routine maintenance to guarantee respiratory technology is functioning properly and safely.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Education:
