Qualifications

• Current State License.
• Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from NBRC.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date.
• ACLS within 6 months of employment.
• Proof of graduation: transcript/diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Respiratory Therapy Department, including staff interviews, orientation, evaluations, training, and equipment issues.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and licensing agencies; provide high-quality respiratory care.
• Address complaints or concerns and pursue resolutions for patient, staff, and family feedback.
• Oversee Safety Officer functions, including EOC updates, safety meetings, and survey readiness.
• Participate in QAPI activities and coordinate with Quality Management on data collection and reporting of metrics.
• Participate in IDT meetings and communicate patient goals and progress to ensure quality care.
• Coordinate Wean Team/Pulmonary Rounds and liaise with pulmonary physicians for weaning patients from ventilation.
• Assist marketing by educating clinicians about department functions and building relationships with referral sources.
• Represent the department during general orientation and provide safety orientation to new hires.
• Collaborate with Rehab Therapy Manager to promote mobility programs for ventilated patients.
