Qualifications

• New York State Respiratory Therapist License.
• AAS or BS in Respiratory Therapy or AMA-approved two-year program.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT).
• BLS certification (within 1 year of hire).
• NRP required to work NICU.

Responsibilities

• Oversee departmental educational activities including orientation, in-services and lectures.
• Supervise, and evaluate respiratory therapy staff across all age groups.
• Provide respiratory care for acute patients under physician direction; adjust ventilation as directed.
• Oversee shift, assist with patient care concerns, and supervise hand-offs.
• Assist with scheduling and equipment sterilization per infection control guidelines.
• Participate in departmental and hospital performance improvement initiatives and data collection.
• Contribute to product evaluations and treatment planning.
• Perform other duties to maintain high-quality patient care.
