Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Supervisor for Cardiopulmonary Services to oversee all activities across the department. You will consult with physicians on therapy effectiveness, direct nursing staff, and assist in direct patient care as needed.

The role requires an AMA-approved Respiratory Care education, RRT credential, and North Carolina licensure. A2-year associate degree in Respiratory Therapy with substantial experience or an equivalent RRT is expected; Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Respiratory Care.
• Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in North Carolina.
• Associates degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent with 2+ years in a Respiratory Care Dept., or RRT with 5+ years.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• BLS certification for healthcare providers.

Responsibilities

• Supervises clinical activities of the cardiopulmonary staff.
• Ensures quality of care per physician orders or protocol.
• Directs staff training and ongoing education.
• Maintains and evaluates supplies and equipment.
• Ensures compliance with JCAHO standards and policies.
• Supports departmental goals and provides direct patient care as needed.
