Job summary

Miami VA Healthcare System seeks a Supervisory Registered Respiratory Therapist (Service Chief) to lead the Respiratory Service and its programs. You will develop and interpret policies, oversee educational initiatives, and ensure clinical operations meet VA guidelines.

You will supervise RRT staff, coordinate complex therapies, and participate in multidisciplinary leadership meetings to improve patient care quality and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must be a US citizen and proficient in English.
• Hold an active RRT credential and state license.
• One year of creditable experience at GS-13 level or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Develop policies and program standards for the Respiratory Service.
• Provide guidance for administering service operations and educational programs.
• Oversee daily rounds, staff supervision, and multidisciplinary meetings.
• Administer complex respiratory therapies and ventilatory support.
• Ensure compliance with national VA standards and fiscal management.
