Select Specialty Hospital Hampton Roads in Newport News, VA is seeking a Respiratory Therapy Manager to lead the respiratory therapy department, ensure quality care, and collaborate with the Chief Nursing Officer on standards and regulatory compliance.

The role requires RRT credential, state licensure, BLS, ACLS within 6 months, and a track record in supervisor or leadership duties. Competitive compensation and benefits accompany the position.

Qualifications

• Current State License and NBRC RRT credential required.
• BLS certification required by start date; ACLS within 6 months.
• Graduation proof: transcript or diploma (high school acceptable).

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the respiratory therapy department.
• Lead staff interviews, orientation, evaluations and development.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and standard of care across the department.
• Coordinate Wean Team/Pulmonary Rounds and communicate with physicians.
• Maintain staffing schedules, cost controls and equipment inventories.
• Promote staff engagement, recruitment and retention.
• Provide education to patients, families and staff on respiratory care.
• Maintain competency in rapid response and code events.
• Act as Moderate Complexity Lab Manager for point-of-care testing where site-specific.
