Job summary

Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital in Westborough, MA, seeks a Respiratory Therapy Manager to lead respiratory care across patient care units. This 40-hour, Monday–Friday role reports to the Director of Nursing and commands 24-hour authority for respiratory services.

The ideal candidate will hold a NBRC-approved program, MA license, a bachelor’s degree, and strong supervisory and public speaking skills. You will shape policies, mentor staff, and participate in interdisciplinary planning to support

Qualifications

• Three years’ minimum supervisory experience.
• Graduate of NBRC approved Respiratory Therapy program.
• Bachelors degree required.
• Licensed as Respiratory Care Practitioner in the State of Massachusetts.
• CRTT (registry eligible); RRT, RCPT preferred.
• Previous geriatric and rehabilitation experience.
• Public speaking experience as an educator.

Responsibilities

• Holds 24 hour authority, responsibility and accountability for Respiratory Care on patient care units.
• Coordinates interdepartmental services and provides clinical supervision of staff respiratory care practitioners, students and supervisors.
• Develops and oversees departmental and respiratory program policies, procedures and standards and ensures compliance with JCAHO, CARF, DPH and other organizations.
• Develops specialty programs related to pulmonary care and conducts regularly scheduled staff meetings.
• Participates in interdisciplinary meetings.
• Participates in retention, recruitment and hiring processes with the Director of Nursing and Clinical Services.
