Job summary

AdventHealth in Littleton, CO seeks a Respiratory Therapist leader for a full-time, day-shift position. You will administer gases and inhaled medications, manage ventilation support, and ensure equipment readiness and compliance.

The role requires NBRC credentials, an RRT license, and 5+ years in respiratory care with 2+ years in leadership. You will supervise staff and contribute to ongoing education and quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Care required.
• 2+ years of respiratory care leadership experience required.
• 5+ years of respiratory care experience required.
• State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and NBRC credentials maintained.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the quality assurance program within the department and hospital.
• Administer therapeutic gases, oxygen and prescribed medications by inhalation.
• Provide ventilation support including CPAP/Bipap and IPPB.
• Perform maintenance, cleaning, calibration and testing of equipment.
• Document procedures in EMR and manage daily workflow.
• Plan and organize department activities, staffing, and education.
• Supervise Respiratory Therapy personnel and workflow.

Job Description:

Assists in the quality assurance program within the department and the hospital.

Administers therapeutic gases, such as oxygen, and prescribed medications via inhalation, including bronchodilators and humidified gases.

Administers positive pressure breathing treatments, including IPPB, Ezpap, CPAP, and Bipap, and monitors continuous ventilatory support.

Performs regular equipment maintenance, preparation, cleaning, sterilization, calibration, repair testing, and evaluation.

Participates in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and performs airway care, including tracheobronchial aspiration.

Conducts pulse oximetry testing and pulmonary function testing according to defined procedures.

Provides patient counseling in all aspects of respiratory care.

Performs bronchial drainage and chest physiotherapy as outlined in department procedures and policies.

Documents hospital procedures in the EMR, including charting, medication tracking, billing for RT services, and daily workflow.

Plans and organizes the activities of the Respiratory Therapy Department, including equipment evaluation, manpower requirements, and continuing education programs.

Supervises Respiratory Therapy department personnel, including hiring, evaluating, training, and ensuring the efficiency of the technical staff.

Supervises and participates in the flow of work, ensuring the quality and efficiency of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

Performs other duties as assigned.
