Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham seeks a compassionate respiratory care provider to evaluate and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies, within student scope of practice. You will administer medications and therapies, monitor patient responses, and communicate changes to the care team.

Under supervision, you will deliver ordered therapies, assess outcomes, document progress, and educate patients about conditions, medications, and treatments.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• High school diploma equivalency AND Enrolled in accredited program specific to discipline.

Responsibilities

• Provide evaluation of and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies consistent with student scope of practice.
• Administer medications and treatments based on patient outcomes, under appropriate supervision.
• Deliver and assess patient response to ordered therapy.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition.
• Provide patient education for diseases, medications, and treatment.
