Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL seeks a Respiratory Therapy student to gain hands-on experience in the Respiratory Therapy Department. Under direct supervision, you will learn the skills needed to qualify for future employment and assist with patient care during clinical training.

You will render respiratory treatments under supervision, assemble trays, clean equipment, keep accurate records, and support care for patients from newborns to geriatrics.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Active enrollment in an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.

Job Description

Utilized for students in the clinical phase of respiratory therapy school. Under direct supervision, acquires the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to qualify, upon graduation, for future employment in the Respiratory Therapy Department. Renders respiratory treatments under supervision and follows standard practice guidelines. Assembles trays and cleans equipment. Maintains accurate records. Maintains compliance with the departmental competency and validation program. Responds to the needs of all patient ages newborn through geriatric. Performs various other duties upon request.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required. Must be actively enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
