Job summary

HCA Florida Memorial Hospital is seeking a Respiratory Student Extern to join our team in Jacksonville. The extern will provide patient care under the supervision of a Licensed Respiratory Therapist and assist staff across routine modalities of respiratory care, while performing clerical duties as needed.

Requirements include enrollment in an accredited Respiratory Therapy program with at least one completed semester, and certifications or timelines for ACLS, BLS, and PALS within specified

Qualifications

• ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• PALS must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• Currently enrolled in accredited Respiratory Therapy program with at least one completed semester.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under supervision of a licensed RT.
• Assist staff and care for patients according to training.
• Perform clerical tasks as assigned.
• Support quality care and customer service initiatives.
