Job summary

HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital in Hudson, FL is seeking a Respiratory Therapy Extern PRN to support patient care under supervision of licensed therapists. You will assist with non-invasive therapies, operate equipment, document care, and participate in safety and quality initiatives as you complete your respiratory therapy education.

Requirements include current enrollment or recent graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program and BLS within 30 days of start.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled (or recently graduated from) in accredited Respiratory Therapy program
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Responsibilities

• Gathers patient information for basic assessments under supervision
• Sets up and operates respiratory therapy equipment and supplies
• Monitors physiological response to therapy (vital signs, oximetry) and communicates changes
• Administers respiratory interventions and completes assigned patient care activities for non-critical patients
• Teaches and demonstrates respiratory care activities to patients and representatives
• Participates in emergency care and resuscitation within the scope of BLS certification
• Maintains and cleans respiratory equipment and ensures safe, organized environments
• Documents pertinent data on the patient’s medical record after services
