Job summary

TriStar Centennial Medical Center is seeking a Respiratory Therapy Educator to lead the design, implementation and evaluation of educational programs for Respiratory Therapy staff and students. The Educator works with management to ensure high-quality patient education and clinical practice, while maintaining policy compliance and staff development.

Qualifications

• Must hold TN licensure RRT/RCP (NBRC credential) and have 3+ years of healthcare experience.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or Education; ACCS and NRP.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS within 30 days of hire.
• Strong knowledge of respiratory therapy principles, state/federal/TJC regulations, and ability to use computer programs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee education programs for department staff and students.
• Identify clinical learning opportunities for staff and professionals across disciplines.
• Coordinate orientation and ongoing education; evaluate new procedures or equipment.
• Coordinate departmental equipment evaluations and N95 fitting procedures.
• Serve as a clinical educator and contribute to policy and Joint Commission readiness.
• Provide hands-on coverage as a staff RT during staffing shortages.
