Job summary

Trinity Health Of New England is seeking a Respiratory Educator for a full-time day shift at Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford. You will design, coordinate, and deliver orientation, competency, and in-service training for the respiratory team.

You will lead continuing education based on needs assessments, mentor staff, and collaborate with education specialists to support organizational goals. NBRC RRT certification and five years of experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in respiratory therapy and a healthcare bachelor’s degree are required.
• Minimum of five years of experience in all aspects of Respiratory Care.
• Teaching experience preferred.
• NBRC certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is required.
• Demonstrated project management experience required.

Responsibilities

• Develops innovative learning approaches for coordination, facilitation, conduction, and evaluation of orientation, competency, and in-service programs.
• Create and implement continuing education based on needs assessment.
• Provide education/training on all new equipment and validates each staff member on use.
• Participate in the development of specialty and generic Respiratory policies/procedures.
• Collaborate with hospital-based education specialist for organizational needs and support.
• Mentor team members to focus on professional growth and development.
• During times of no scheduled education and training or as operational needs requires, The RT educator may perform normal duties as a staff RT.
