Job summary

Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, a leader in physical medicine and rehabilitation, seeks a Respiratory Therapy Assistant to provide pulmonary therapy in an inpatient setting. You will perform airway assessments, monitor oxygen and CO2 levels, document care, and assist with non-medication therapy procedures under supervision.

Ideal candidates are first/second-year students in an accredited Respiratory Care Program or new graduates; BLS certification is required.

Qualifications

• Student in an approved Respiratory Care Program, enrolled and continuing coursework.
• New graduates may apply; credentials to be obtained within 1 year of graduation.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine airway assessment and monitor patient oxygen saturation and CO2 levels.
• Document services in electronic medical records accurately.
• Assist with non-medication respiratory therapy procedures as trained.
• Prepare and replace disposable bedside equipment per guidelines.
• Support respiratory care team under supervision of staff.
