Job summary

Shirley Ryan AbilityLab is seeking a Respiratory Therapy Assistant to provide care in an inpatient setting for adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients. The role includes airway assessment, monitoring oxygen and CO2, and accurate documentation in the electronic record.

New grads or students in a recognized Respiratory Care Program may be considered, with credentialing expected within one year of graduation.

Qualifications

• First or second year student in an approved and accredited Respiratory Care Program with evidence of continued enrollment.
• New grads awaiting credentials may be considered if credentials are obtained within 1 year of graduation date.
• Must have current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine airway assessment and monitor bedside emergency equipment for patients with tracheostomy tubes.
• Assess and apply monitoring devices for patient oxygen saturation and carbon dioxide levels.
• Document services in patient electronic records accurately.
