Job summary

Corewell Health Lakeland is seeking a Respiratory Therapy Apprentice to support licensed Respiratory Therapists in a part-time role at Lakeland Hospital St Joseph. The apprentice will help with equipment management, patient care tasks, and procedural support in respiratory care.

Responsibilities include assisting with procedures, maintaining and calibrating equipment, and helping with transport and disinfection under supervision.

Qualifications

• Must be actively enrolled in a CoARC accredited RT program.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CRT-BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in assembly, transport, disinfection, calibration and troubleshooting of respiratory equipment.

It houses a range of coordinated health services from diagnostics to primary and specialty care, all in one place, allowing us to deliver care to a patient's whole family, right in their community.

Scope of Work

The Respiratory Therapy Apprentice works under the direction of a licensed Respiratory Therapist. The Respiratory Therapy Apprentice is responsible for maintaining an appropriate level of equipment in the various respiratory work areas and assisting the Respiratory Therapists with various procedures and tasks, as directed. The Respiratory Therapy Apprentice may be responsible for performing multiple duties that require an expertise in the assembly, transport, disinfection, calibration and troubleshooting of respiratory related equipment.

• Required Must be actively enrolled in CoARC accredited RT program


• Required High School Diploma or equivalent


• Healthcare Preferred


• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days preferred


• If you are 18 or older, have graduated High School or possess a GED, and would be interested in becoming a Respiratory Therapist and may attend Kalamazoo Valley Community College, please apply so that we may consider you for the RT Apprentice Program
