Scope of Work

The Respiratory Therapy Apprentice works under the direction of a licensed Respiratory Therapist. The Respiratory Therapy Apprentice is responsible for maintaining an appropriate level of equipment in the various respiratory work areas and assisting the Respiratory Therapists with various procedures and tasks, as directed. The Respiratory Therapy Apprentice may be responsible for performing multiple duties that require an expertise in the assembly, transport, disinfection, calibration and troubleshooting of respiratory related equipment.

Qualifications

• Must be actively enrolled in a CoARC accredited RT program
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Healthcare Preferred
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA American Heart Association 90 days preferred
• If you are 18 or older, have graduated high school or possess a GED, and would be interested in becoming a Respiratory Therapist and may attend Kalamazoo Valley Community College, please apply so that we may consider you for the RT Apprentice Program
