Job summary

Marshall Medical Centers is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to perform and oversee respiratory care, including ventilator management and ABG analysis, while contributing to patient education and discharge planning.

Responsibilities include performing EKGs, collaborating with the care team, and responding to emergencies within scope of practice. Required NBRC Registry, ASBRT license, and BLS; ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• NBRC registry certification and ASBRT license required, BLS mandatory, ACLS preferred.
• 1–2 years experience in respiratory care preferred.

Overview

Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions

1. Performs respiratory patient assessments, makes appropriate recommendations and initiates recommended mode of therapy per physician orders. Must be familiar with ventilator equipment, respiratory medication delivery devices as well as be knowledgable on performing chest physical therapy.

2. Draws and analyzes arterial blood specimens. Assist in the interpretation of ABG's as needed.

3. Responds to cardiopulmonary emergencies and assist with intervention as appropriate and within scope of practice.

4. Performs EKG's and other diagnostic or therapeutic tests as assigned.

5. Collaborates with other members of the healthcare team concerning interventions, discharge needs and patient education.

6. Completes other duties or task as assigned.

Responsibilities

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required:

Education: Graduate of an accredited program. NBRC Registry. ASBRT License. BLS required, ACLS preferred.

Experience: 1-2 years experience preferred.
