Job summary

Saint Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center (SJHMC) in Phoenix, AZ seeks an experienced Respiratory Therapist to deliver specialized cardiopulmonary care. You will manage ventilators, administer oxygen therapies, and perform comprehensive patient assessments as part of an established RT team.

The role requires strong clinical judgment, urgency, and calm under pressure to develop effective care plans and respond to routine and emergent situations while ensuring accurate documentation and billing.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA Respiratory Therapy Program.
• Respiratory Care Practitioner: AZ license.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist credential.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs full range of basic respiratory care for all patient populations.
• Performs and documents a complete patient assessment including vital signs, breath sounds, cough, and respiratory pattern with each ventilator system check and with each treatment.
• Checks all equipment and respiratory modalities (including invasive and non-invasive), maintains alarms and documents accurately and completely.
• Performs ABGs utilizing 2 patient identifiers, properly handles blood specimens, reports critical values, and maintains blood gas lab logs (where applicable).
• Accurately completes patient billing.
• Correctly charges, labels, scans and discards medications.
