Job summary

Saint Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center (SJHMC) in Phoenix, AZ, seeks a Respiratory Therapist with vascular access expertise to independently provide and maintain vascular lines as ordered by physicians. The role involves ultrasound-guided insertions, line care, and detailed EMR documentation within a high-acuity cardiopulmonary team.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of respiratory experience, be RRT certified, hold AZ RCP, and have BLS CPR training, joining a leading Saint Joseph’s

Qualifications

• 5 years of Respiratory experience.
• Trained in Central line insertion.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Respiratory Care Practitioner: AZ (RCP)
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support - CPR

Responsibilities

• Review physician orders, patient history and labs to determine line placement and candidate suitability.
• Obtain consent and provide patient teaching regarding line insertion and care.
• Insert and maintain lines per policy, including dressing changes, line review and de-clotting.
• Use ultrasound to guide insertion and maintain sterile field; document in EMR.
• Review chest X-ray or Sherlock 3CG+TCS/Chest X-ray to confirm line placement.
• Access and maintain infusion ports as needed.
