Job summary

Saint Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking a Respiratory Therapist specialized in vascular access to independently provide and maintain vascular lines per physician orders. You will use ultrasound guidance, ensure sterile technique, and document in the EMR while managing diverse patient needs in routine and emergent situations.

The role requires 5+ years of respiratory experience, central line insertion training, RRT certification, AZ RCP, and BLS.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of respiratory experience.
• Trained in central line insertion.
• RRT certification.
• RCP AZ certification.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (CPR).

Responsibilities

• Review physician orders, patient history and labs to determine appropriate line placement.
• Obtain consent and provide patient education regarding line insertion, care and maintenance.
• Insert and maintain lines per policy, including dressing changes and line reviews.
• Use ultrasound guidance to ensure accurate insertion and maintain sterile field.
• Review chest X-ray or Sherlock 3CG+TCS display to confirm line placement (PICC/central lines).
• Access and maintain infusion ports when needed.
