Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a PRN, as-needed shift in Illinois/Wisconsin. You will initiate and monitor ventilation, assess patients, and document care in the EMR while ensuring safety and protocol compliance across adult and pediatric populations.

The role requires licensure in IL and/or WI, CPR and NRP within 90 days, and a commitment to high-quality patient care in a large integrated health system with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• IL and/or WI Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
• CPR and NRP within 90 days of orientation.

Responsibilities

• Initiate, monitor, evaluate, and wean invasive and non-invasive ventilation.
• Perform patient assessments to determine therapies, frequencies, and duration.
• Document in the EMR and departmental records in a timely, accurate manner.
• Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot ventilators and related devices.
• Provide oxygen administration and therapy per protocol and respond to emergent care situations.
