Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide comprehensive respiratory care under physician supervision. The role emphasizes airway management, ventilator care, and coordination with the medical team.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy and active certifications (PALS, NRP, NBRC RRT, BLS, ACLS) with facility for arterial sampling and EKG work. Sign-on bonus available and a commitment to patient safety and quality care.

Qualifications

• Certifications: PALS within 1 year (AHA), NRP within 1 year (AAP), RCP license in IL, NBRC RRT, BLS within 30 days (AHA), ACLS within 1 year (AHA).
• Education: Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy required.

Responsibilities

• Administer oxygen therapy with various devices.
• Set up, initiate and maintain ventilators and CPAP devices.
• Assist with intubation and airway management.
• Follow procedures for care during and after extubation and support life functions.
• Communicate with physicians and administer prescribed medications.
• Perform arterial punctures and arterial line draws as needed.
• Operate pulmonary function equipment and perform EKGs as required.
