Job summary

MercyOne Health System in Iowa is hiring a Respiratory Therapist to deliver basic and advanced care across neonatal to geriatric patients, in line with MercyOne standards. You will consult with physicians, assess needs, educate staff and patients, and perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as oximetry, capnography, arterial puncture, and ventilation waveform analysis.

Requirements: NBRC registration at hire, Iowa licensure within one year, BLS within 3 months, ACLS within one year,

Qualifications

• NBRC registration required upon hire.
• Iowa licensure as an RCP within one year of hire.
• BLS certification within 3 months of hire.
• ACLS certification within one year of hire.
• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.

Responsibilities

• Consults with physicians and nurses on respiratory care plans and implements orders.
• Assesses patients and communicates needs to physicians.
• Provides education to patients, students, and healthcare staff on therapies and device use.
• Performs diagnostic procedures including oximetry, capnography, arterial puncture, and ventilation waveform analysis.
• Delivers emergency and ICU respiratory care per guidelines and hospital policies.
