Job summary

CHI St. Alexius Health in Bismarck, ND is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide and coordinate high-quality respiratory therapy under physician orders, promoting health and recovery for diverse patients.

You will perform therapies and participate in the care planning process across age groups, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Responsibilities include education, diagnostics, and transport, with arterial/venous sampling for POCT.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited/AMA certified School of Respiratory Therapy; Associate/Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Licensed with the North Dakota State Board of Respiratory Care.

Responsibilities

• Actively participates in Respiratory Therapy Department Meetings
• Explain treatment procedures to patients to gain cooperation and allay fears
• Assess, manage, treat and perform diagnostic/therapeutic evaluation of patients with cardiopulmonary conditions
• Educate patients and families about conditions and disease management techniques and the use of medications and respiratory therapy equipment
• Develop therapeutic goals and care plans using Respiratory Therapy Protocols
• Provide and coordinate high quality respiratory therapy as ordered by a physician
• Perform basic and advanced respiratory therapies, diagnostics, patient education, and transport
