Job summary

CHI St. Alexius Health in Bismarck, ND is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide and coordinate high quality respiratory therapy under the direction of a licensed physician, helping promote health and recovery for patients served by the St.

Alexius Medical Center. You will use Respiratory Therapy Protocols to develop therapeutic goals and form care plans, perform routine therapies, monitor ventilation, and educate patients and families about conditions and treatments.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited/AMA certified School of Respiratory Therapy. An Associate/Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy is preferred.
• Licensed with the North Dakota State Board of Respiratory Care.

Responsibilities

• Actively participates in Respiratory Therapy Department Meetings
• Explain treatment procedures to patients to gain cooperation and allay fears
• Works as a physician extender to assess, manage, treat and perform diagnostic/therapeutic evaluation of patients with cardiopulmonary conditions
• Educate patients and their families about their conditions and teach appropriate disease management techniques and the use of medications and respiratory therapy equipment
• Uses Respiratory Therapy Protocols to develop therapeutic goals and formulate care plans for patients
