A leading healthcare provider is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide assessment and treatment for patients with respiratory disorders. The role involves administering therapeutic procedures, performing diagnostics, and ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards. Candidates must possess relevant licensure and certifications, and experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
GENERAL OVERVIEW
Provides assessment, treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with respiratory disorders under licensed medical direction.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Administers therapeutic respiratory care procedures according to hospital and department policies. (55%)
Completes documentation required to measure, monitor, and ensure department effectiveness, such as charting, billing, IPOC, and patient/family education. (20%)
Performs diagnostic respiratory procedures according to hospital and department policies. (20%)
Provides instruction to patients and other members of the healthcare team as needed. (5%)
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum
Graduate of an approved respiratory therapy program
Pennsylvania licensure as a Respiratory Therapist or Temporary Practice Permit (TPP)
Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care required prior to the expiration of the TPP
CPR certification – American Heart Association
Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
Preferred
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with the National Board of Respiratory Care
Two years of experience in pulmonary/respiratory medicine in a hospital setting
