GENERAL OVERVIEW

Provides assessment, treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies under licensed medical direction.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Administers therapeutic respiratory care procedures according to hospital and department policies. (45%)
  2. Completes documentation required to measure, monitor, and ensure department effectiveness, such as charting, billing, IPOC, and patient/family education. (20%)
  3. Performs diagnostic respiratory procedures according to hospital and department policies. (20%)
  4. Provides instruction to patients and other members of the healthcare team as needed. (5%)
  5. Completes charge duties and special projects as assigned. (10%)
  6. Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

  • Graduate of a Respiratory Care program accredited by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).
  • Pennsylvania licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner CRT.
  • Registered with the National Board of Respiratory Care RRT.
  • 4 years of experience in a hospital clinical setting, including recent adult and neonatal respiratory care.
  • CPR certification – American Heart Association
  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
