Job summary

Medical City Lewisville is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide routine and critical care, including ventilation management, oxygen therapy, and airway support. Join a collaborative team with access to advanced respiratory technologies and mentorship for ongoing professional growth.

You will contribute to patient care across emergency, critical care, and acute settings, with a stable schedule and strong emphasis on safety, infection control, and family education.

Qualifications

• ACLS must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• NRP must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
• PALS must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
• RRT/RCP-State certification eligibility for Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner.
• NBRC-RRT certification or equivalent (RRT-NPS) or related credential, or an Associate Degree.

Responsibilities

• Assess respiratory status and determine need for interventions.
• Deliver evidence-based therapy including oxygen, aerosols, and airway clearance techniques.
• Manage ventilation and airway support, including invasive and noninvasive modes.
• Educate patients and families and support the care team across settings.
• Maintain and transport equipment, ensuring infection control and safety.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Respiratory Therapist,you’llplay an essential role in guiding patients through both routine care and critical moments.You’llperform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures while managing invasive and noninvasive ventilation across a variety of care settings.You’llhave access to advanced respiratory technology, mentorship from experienced RT leaders, and the support of a dependable, collaborative team that will set you up for success and ongoing professional growth. Your role will include:

• Assessing respiratory statusby performing focused exams, interpreting breath sounds and airway patency, anddeterminingthe need for respiratory interventions.
• Deliveringevidence-based therapyby providing oxygen support, aerosolized medications, airway clearance techniques, and other treatments across emergency, critical care, and acute settings.
• Managing ventilation and airwaysbyassistingwith artificial airway placement,initiatingand adjusting invasive and noninvasive ventilation,monitoringpatientresponses, and responding quickly to clinical changes or emergencies.
• Supporting patients and the care teamby educating patients and families, serving as a clinical resource, partnering with physicians and nurses, and helping stabilize newborns during deliveries when needed.
• Maintainingequipment and safetyby setting up,operating, and cleaning respiratory equipment; ensuring readiness and preventive maintenance; transporting ventilated patients safely; and following all infection-prevention standards.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• (RRT/RCP-State) Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner
• (NBRC-RRT) Registered Respiratory Therapist, or (RRT-NPS) Neonatal/Pediatric Specialty, or Certificate, or Associate Degree
