Responsibilities include managing mechanical ventilation, arterial sampling, and overnight oximetry; outpatient duties involve pulmonary function testing and lab rotation as needed. A.S. degree required.

Qualifications

• A.S. degree in respiratory care from an accredited program.
• CRT (RRT preferred) with active credentials.
• Basic life support and advanced cardiovascular life support certification.
• NRP within 12 months of hire; PALS preferred.
• Experience with EPIC electronic health records is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and develop treatment plans with providers.
• Provide emergency care including intubations and codes.
• Attend rounds, manage mechanical ventilation, and perform arterial sampling.
• Overnight oximetry and bronchoscopies assistance.
• In outpatient settings, training to perform pulmonary function tests.

Within the scope of practice, the respiratory therapist will assess patients and develop treatment plans in conjunction with the provider to address specific patient needs. Provide emergency care including assisting with or performing intubations, attending rapid responses/codes, attending C-sections and responding to traumas. In the critical care setting, you will attend multidisciplinary rounds, initiate and manage mechanical ventilation, perform arterial sampling including arterial puncture and arterial lines, conduct overnight oximetry studies, and assist with bronchoscopies. In the outpatient setting, you will be trained to perform pulmonary function testing and rotate through the lab as needed.

Requirements include:

• A.S. Degree in Respiratory Care from an AHA accredited program


• CRT (RRT preferred)


• BLS


• ACLS


• NRP within 1 year of hire


• PALS preferred


• Experience in EPIC preferred
